Not Enough

Not Enough

Not enough people
who care to listen;
it's just so much
to get through the day.
Not enough love
in a world full of war;
not enough time to say
what you have to say.
Not enough feeling for
those who have feelings;
not enough time
for those who won't feel.
Not enough pay
for all the work that is needed;
not enough time
to make love and to play.
Not enough moments
of magic are heeded;
not enough good fortune
ever comes by your way.
Not enough pockets
to carry your dreams in;
not enough who will listen,
so you stash them away.
