YES!!!

Answers.

Ever stick a crapload of creatures in a jar and shake it up?
Who gets pissed off and wants to fight?

Listen, Yes we have overpopulated this rock.
We have gone way too far in our quest for resources; destroying vital rainforests polluting to excess; exploiting inhabitants at every opportunity.

Some say eventually nanotechnology will solve all of this and we can send nanobots into landfills and they will separate atoms into containers and our garbage will finally be useful.
Guess what....
Sounds good, but I don't think that is in the current agenda of big business. They seem to be hell bent on selling us every last piece of useless junk they produce if we like it or not!
I'm thoroughly sick of buying products that have a built-in lifespan.
I own a car without computers. I fix it myself. I love what computers can do for me, but currently the industry has widened the gap between the consumer and his or her ability to comprehend the technology.
How many of you have a computer system that can analyze the problems in your car? mmmm... thought so.

Here is what I propose.

ONLY BUY QUALITY PRODUCTS!!!

You only have to buy them once, maybe twice. (And if they believe in their product you may actually get a lifetime guarantee. Have you seen many of those lately?)
Plastic might be inexpensive, but it is in the products so that they fail and leave you to buy more and more and more.
Here is how products are developed. I've worked in factories and I've seen it first hand...

Engineers design a product.
Then, they are instructed to replace every permanent part with plastic ones until it no longer works, then they add a few good parts and it works... for a while. Then you buy a new one.

Radiogod and Prof. Hawking are correct. Humanity desperately needs to expand off this planet and soon!
What if there is a widespread biological/chemical/nuclear incident?
Humanity needs a backup plan.
What if we get surprised by one of the thousands of Near Earth Asteroids and it pays us a visit to orchestrate our final act?
Listen, we should have been off this rock in numbers in the eighties.
We have the technology and I'm extremely sick of the sorry excuses that there is no reason or profit in space. One small near Earth asteroid can offer more resources than the entire crust of the Earth has offered us thus far.
So let's just say, YES, I agree with you Radiogod!
Free Humanity from the bondage!
Design and launch every test vehicle we can come up with!
-see you in orbit around Titan!
