Ant Poem

Ant crawling across my paper
Lingers
I will not harm him

Anxiety slips in and out of me
It’s familiar and knows its way around

I swim through the calm blue stillness
But my mind is often untouched by the tranquility

Old habits die hard
Fear will sleep here again
Perhaps to be evicted tomorrow
