Tonight is dark
as all nights

you sleep
and let another breathe
the air I need,
the things I never asked you for

Another, darker night
I scream
and laugh out loud
because I never asked for more

Another darker night
I shower in darkness
and drown myself slowly

you sleep
lost in fractured apathy;
in a dream
you see the edges of my body
and smile at the shape I'm in.
